There are many ways you can, and do, support our work – by volunteering at events, joining our local groups and getting involved with projects – but as we are a charity, we also need funding to continue to help to make Merton a greener and better place.

If you can help with this, it would be greatly appreciated. Any donation – no matter how big or small, makes a difference and there are a number of ways you can contribute…

Carbon Offsetting

Fruit tree planted at Phipps Bridge Community Garden – Sponsored by local green business Crown Lane Studio

All of us have a carbon footprint, which is defined as the amount of carbon dioxide ( CO2) we produce on a daily basis. As CO2 is the biggest contributor to climate change, reducing it is a vital part of our approach to tackling this global issue.

This can be done in two ways. The best is by taking steps to reduce our footprint by reducing the amount of fuel we use and materials we acquire. The second is by helping to remove CO2 from the atmosphere by planting more trees because all trees need to absorb CO2 as part of their life cycle.

If you feel you would like to offset some of your carbon production in this way, you can do so by making a small regular donation to Sustainable Merton, which we will use to take local action to reduce Merton’s carbon footprint. Get in touch to find out more!
