About The Event
Come and hear about how you and your business can be part of the solution to reduce single-use plastics in the borough.
Meet Sustainable Merton’s Business Community Champions who are already taking action to reduce the problem, and find out about what more we can each do to reduce plastic pollution and protect our oceans.
We are delighted to be joined by Leonie Cooper, London Assembly Member, Merton & Wandsworth and Deputy Chair of the environment committee.
#PlasticFreeMerton
Trash travels. Plastic waste and litter created here in Merton will find its way to our oceans, hurting ocean life and getting into our food chain. No matter where you live, single-use plastics can travel from your hands to storm drains, rivers, streams and, ultimately, into our oceans.
We are contributing to the shocking 8,000,000 tonnes of plastic dumped into our oceans every year – that’s a rubbish truck full every minute!
In Merton a number of businesses have already bitten the bullet and reduced their use of single use plastics such as cups, straws and cutlery. We are looking for more business to take on the challenge and this is your opportunity to hear how you can be part of the solution not the problem.
