Abundance Wimbledon seeks volunteer Social Media & Web Content Manager



Do you have social media and web content experience? Could you help a local project ensure unwanted fruit is put to good use?


THE ROLE


Abundance Wimbledon is looking for a social media and web content manager.


In this role, you will be part of a small, passionate and effective community group focussed on reducing waste by picking unwanted fruit in Merton and redistributing it – either to charities or to local community members who make products to sell at Abundance Wimbledon's Annual Fruit Day (which takes place in September each year) with proceeds distributed to local charities.


RESPONSIBILITIES:

  • Maintaining the Abundance Wimbledon website (Weebly)

  • Preparing 4 – 6 newsletters (mainly in the picking season of June – September) for distribution through Mailchimp. The content of the newsletters can form the basis for social media posts (Facebook and Twitter)

  • Maintaining a spreadsheet of fruit picked over the summer


You will ideally have:

  • Excellent written communication skills

  • Experience in the use of Mailchimp, Facebook and Twitter

  • Experience working with Weebly


TIME COMMITMENT:


From June to September, the role can take up to 3 hours per week. October to May up to 4 afternoon committee meetings.
