#GivingTuesdayNow: Together we give

Updated: Aug 26, 2020

#GivingTuesdayNow, happening on 5th May, is a global day of generosity and unity, a day to come together and give back in response to the unprecedented need caused by COVID-19, no matter who or where we are. A reminder that we have the power to make a positive change in the lives of others.

Sustainable Merton has seen an amazing amount of giving through our 2.6 Challenge and as #GivingTuesday approaches and our challenges are almost complete, we are calling on our wonderful community to get behind us for our final push!

We've exceeded our target but we're not stopping there! We want to raise £500 for Merton's Community Fridge so that we can directly aid those living in isolation and/or food poverty through the distribution of free surplus fresh food. Please give a little if you can 💙

🏆 Diana cycled 26 miles in 6 days

🏆 Blanca meditated for 2 hours and 6 minutes

🏆 Hayley did 26 sits up a day for 6 days 🏆 Rachael walked 26,000 steps in 2 days and baked 26 beautifully decorated cupcakes 🏆 Ellie jogged 2.6 miles and picked up 26 pieces of litter on one of her daily walks 🏆 Amy ran for 26 minutes in her garden, inspired by Captain Tom Moore

🏆 Cindy walked 2.6km on her birthday 🏆 Susanna did "26 salutes to the sun for a good cause"

Give your time

There are many ways you can give back to the Merton community, whether it’s helping a neighbour, giving your time through volunteering or taking action to the protect our local environment, now and for the future. Every action counts and we thank you for all of the ways you continue to support our work.

If you are local and have some time to spare to volunteer with Merton's Community Fridge we would love to hear from you! Please get in touch with our Volunteer Coordinator Rachael to find out more.
