Solar Together
Mayor of London Sadiq Khan has published his Solar Action Plan, which outlines his ambition for more of London’s energy to be generated by solar technology. It is estimated that schemes like Solar Together could more than double London’s current solar energy capacity.
In partnership with the Mayor, Merton has been joined by 10 other London boroughs, all working together using group-buying to unlock significant savings from suppliers.
Generating your own energy Generating your own energy can help to increase your energy independence, cut your energy costs and reduce your impact on the environment. Technologies such as solar panels and wind turbines use natural, renewable sources of energy, like the sun and wind. This has a much lower carbon footprint than energy produced from fossil fuels (oil, coal and gas) and can help reduce your electricity bills.
Phase 3 now open
Following two successful schemes last year Merton is again working in partnership with the Mayor of London on the innovative new scheme offering high-quality solar photovoltaic (PV) panels.
Solar Together brings together households and local government to get high quality solar panels at a highly competitive price. As a Merton resident you can register your interest in having solar panels installed on your home though the scheme.
Registration is open from 17th September - 21st October 2019.
