Vectis Gardens Action Day

Updated: Sep 28, 2018

A big thank you to our talented Duke of Edinburgh volunteer Nick Finch for these great autumnal images!

The pictures were taken on Saturday 15th November at the Vectis Gardens action day, organized by the North Mitcham Friends of Parks and Heritage Group. Nick and another of our young volunteers, Cameron, were good enough to help out as part of their Duke of Edinburgh award scheme.

Work at Vectis Gardens is part of the wider Dig Merton project and is specifically carried out in partnership with the NMFPHG. It is run by Councillors and residents from Graveney and Figges Marsh wards.

The day’s main tasks included refurbishing the fencing and planting bulbs around the gardens.

Thanks to Councillors Linda Kirby and Geraldine Stanford and the local residents who made the day a success!

Sustainable Merton will be doing further work with this group in the new year and would welcome your support! Thank you.
