Clean Air Merton
Partner Project
Local people raising awareness of air pollution and taking action to reduce it.
Formed in 2017, Clean Air Merton is a group of residents and community groups who want to bring attention to air pollution in the borough and influence action clean up the toxic air that is poisoning our communities.
They are asking for the following:
-
20mph speed limits on all roads
-
discourage unnecessary idling of stationary vehicles
-
work with schools and nurseries to introduce some car-free roads in their vicinity
-
support Merton's inclusion in the proposed Ultra Low Emission Zone
-
encourage cycling and walking
-
plant more trees

Sustainable Merton works with the group on issues relating to our aims around Air Quality (one of our 4 key themes).
