Sustainable Merton’s Seed Libraries, in partnership with Merton Libraries, support local residents to collect and share locally grown seeds and excess packaged seeds with others in the community.

You can take free seeds to start growing and return the harvested seeds to the library the following year.

Our Seed Libraries are located in every Merton library and we regularly host free workshops on seed saving, growing vegetables and organise seed swaps. Let’s share, learn, and grow together!

If you’d like to get involved by volunteering at your local Seed Library or donating surplus seeds, please contact us: seedlibraries@sustainablemerton.org.

Take up to three packets of seeds and grow your veggies/ flowers. You can save some of the seeds of what you have grown and donate the back to your local seed library, so they can continue to be distributed.

Donate locally grown seeds and excess packaged seeds by putting it in the donation box at the bottom of the shelf. Please make sure you label what seed it is, where and when it was collected. Our volunteers will check the seeds before they are made available to others in the community.

For bulk donations, please contact seedlibraries@sustainablemerton.org
