Sustainable Merton worked with The Shine Trust to deliver healthy school activities to students in Mitcham aged between eight and eleven years old.
SHINE is an education charity that changes the lives of disadvantaged young people by providing them with extra support and creative learning opportunities after school, on Saturdays and in the school holidays.
By the end of the week, there were countless good food stories to be heard. Children recounting what fruit and vegetables they had tried that week, which they wouldn’t have normally tried, or stories of how they had gladly helped to peel the carrots for dinner, something they had never done before.
We thoroughly enjoyed our time at Shine, and hope the students did too!
