Team Eco-Sexy dig deep for Merton

On Saturday 26th September, team ‘Eco-Sexy’ joined Sustainable Merton volunteers for a community gardening day at Phipps Bridge Allotments. The team, formed through NCS The Challenge, came along with enthusiasm and a keenness to get stuck in! They made tasks including litter picking, harvesting and digging look easy and we were delighted to team up with such a hard working group!

All volunteers enjoyed a well deserved tea break and were treated to a delicious spread of chard fritters, courgette cake and apple cake – all made by Sustainable Merton’s Ruth using ingredients recently picked from the garden.

The day was both fun and productive, with lots of tasty fruit and vegetables, such as apples, runner beans and sweetcorn were harvested for our helpers to enjoy at home.

We would like to say a BIG thank you to everyone for their hard work and we look forward to joining forces again!
