Merton’s Community Fridge #GivingTuesday Holiday Food Appeal

Help us address food poverty this holiday season. 

We are calling on you, our followers and supporters, for food donations that will be given to clients of Merton’s Community Fridge.

With rising energy and food prices, more families than ever are struggling to afford essentials this holiday season. Starting on #GivingTuesday, you can donate to brighten someone’s holiday.

When and where can you donate?

Bring your festive food donations to Morden Hall Park (come find us near the stableyard) on #GivingTuesday!

Tips for putting together a food donation:

• Shop local
• Avoid single use plastics and plastic packaging
• Support green businesses (e.g., Zero waste shops)

Most needed items:

• Long life milk (dairy and non-dairy)
• Instant coffee and tea
• Baked beans
• Tuna
• Chickpeas
• Pasta, rice, lentils, couscous
• Pasta sauce
• Cereal and oats
• Jam/spreads
• Sustainable toiletries
• Special holiday treats (e.g., mince pies, chocolates)
