2027 marks Sustainable Merton’s 20th anniversary - a chance to celebrate everything we’ve achieved together, and to design how we look and show up for the next 20 years.

To do this, we’re looking for volunteers to help us deliver a year of anniversary celebrations (Part 1), and refresh our brand for the future (Part 2). You can apply for one or both parts!

Part 1: Celebrate 20 Years

We need help across 5 areas:

  • Anniversary Brand - Design a logo, graphics, and templates for the year

  • Commemorative Report - Help tell the story of our first 20 years

  • Event - Plan a celebration event for Spring 2027

  • Engagement Campaign - Reach new audiences and grow participation

  • Fundraising Campaign - Help secure sponsors and grow support

What you’ll gain

This is a pro bono opportunity to lead a high-profile project, build your portfolio, and work alongside a passionate team. We expect ∼4 hours per week from September 2026.

Who you are

You might have experience in events, marketing, design, fundraising, or project management. But most of all, you’ll bring enthusiasm and ideas. No charity experience needed.

Part 2: Shape the Brand Refresh

As we approach our 20th anniversary, we have an exciting opportunity to refresh our charity’s visual identity and strengthen how we present ourselves to the communities, partners, funders and supporters we work with.

What you’ll gain

This is a pro bono opportunity to lead a high-profile project, build your portfolio, and work alongside a passionate team. We estimate the project will take around 20–40 hours and would need to be completed by November 2026.

Who you are

We’re looking for someone with experience in branding, graphic design or visual

communications who enjoys helping organisations maximise their impact. Experience of

developing brands for charities, community organisations or purpose-led organisations would be particularly valuable.
