We are working with local businesses to inspire and influence them to make changes to reduce their impact on the environment.
At a time when concern about the escalating climate crisis continues to grow, businesses are stepping up to help make Merton a more sustainable community now, and for future generations.
With the support of our partners: Merton Chamber of Commerce, Love Wimbledon and Geeks Ltd., we are engaging businesses across the borough, and we are seeing real enthusiasm from both employers and employees who want to play their part in Merton's overall sustainability agenda. By working together we can have the greatest impact.
Join the green conversation
In partnership with Merton Chamber of Commerce and Morden-based software development company Geeks Ltd., we are creating a network of local businesses within Merton sharing best practice, ideas and plans to become more sustainable.
Through regular networking events hosted by the 'Green Geeks Club', businesses have an opportunity to share their stories of the positive actions they are taking and services they offer to make business in Merton more sustainable for the benefit of the environment and local economy.
These businesses are demonstrating that although the initial challenge might seem overwhelming, it is possible, and we can all be part of the solution. Read more
Geeks Green Club has been individually trying to move Geeks to becoming a more sustainable business and have made some great improvements over the last year.
It was really exciting and inspiring to talk to so many people who are doing great work and we look forward to working within the community further to help make our borough greener.

Plastic Free Merton
Business Champions supporting our #PlasticFreeMerton campaign have made important changes to what they offer the consumer.
They have switched from single-use plastic options to non plastic alternatives.
These businesses are doing their bit and getting good feedback from their customers for it.
There is still more to be done, so let's keep working to beat plastic pollution!
We want more local businesses to join the fight for a #PlasticFreeMerton.
Contact us today to find out more about the campaign and what you and your business can do to reduce single-use plastics in Merton.
Special thanks to our partners

The waste industry can be a dirty business, but to First Mile it's a source of inspiration...
"We set out in 2004 on a mission to revolutionise waste and recycling for businesses. Along the way we've pioneered some awesome tech, to help us deliver a hassle-free, reliable service that is good for our customers and the planet.
And because we believe in a world where everything can be recycled, we go out of our way to find creative solutions; only items that can’t currently be salvaged go to waste, where they generate Green energy."
